Happy Sabbath Blessings

The Sabbath is a special day that brings its own unique set of blessings. It is a day to rest, worship and reflection.

It has the intention to spend time with family and friends and to remember our origins. On the Sabbath, we can recharge our batteries, focus on what is truly important in life, and reconnect with God.

We can use this time to slow down and appreciate what we have around us – nature, family, friends, our work, and our faith. In other words, the blessings that God has poured on us!

Sabbath blessings come in different forms. Because God has blessed and sanctified this day it is of special importance and unique!

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Genesis 2:2-3 KJV

Imagine that what God blesses and sanctifies is indeed unique! Taking a day off every week and not any usual day but on the one God sanctified has many blessings!

Besides the rest from a full week of stress and work, comes the time spent together with family and friends!

The seventh day of the week should be a unique time to reconsolidate the relationship with your loved ones! But most importantly, to renew our relationship with God, our Creator!

Happy Sabbath blessings can involve spending time together, sharing meals, and gathering in prayer. This can be done in a church or even at home. No matter where it is held, the Sabbath should be a time for gratitude and joy.

It is important to remember that the Sabbath is not just a day of rest and worship, but a time to celebrate the blessings of God!

Because He is the source of life, happiness, and every good thing that exists in this world, we can take some special time with our Creator! We are to honour Him by thanking Him for all He has done for us!

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:17 KJV

Our breath of life and everything we have is from Him, but He also gave us the greatest gift of all – Jesus Christ – to die for our sins, to take our penalty on Him, and to make us free from the power of sin! Not only that but everlasting life for those who accept His sacrifice and believe in Him! (John 3:16)

What an amazing God – merciful, loving, and full of patience with sinners like us! (Psalm 103:8), (Hebrew 4:15).

We can honor Him by respecting His commandments including the Sabbath day, on the seventh day of the week as the Bible tells us in the fourth commandment! (Exodus 20:8-11)

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exodus 20:8-11 KJV

Happy and Blessed Sabbath

We can also explore nature, the creation of God on this day, and enjoy the beauty of it, the work of the Greatest Artist!

We are to never forget our origins but always remember that we have a Creator that is caring for us every day and surrounds us with His blessings all the time!

Finally, happy Sabbath blessings can be a time for giving. This could include giving back to those in need, volunteering in your community, or donating to a charity.

It is important to remember that blessings come in many forms, and giving back is one way to show our appreciation for the blessings we have received.
