Did you know there is no evidence in the Bible for the Sabbath being changed to Sunday?
The Sabbath was, is, and always will be on the seventh day of the week, known today as Saturday! (Genesis 2:2-3), (Exodus 20:8-11).
In fact, Jesus never changed the Sabbath, but instead, He honored the Sabbath day! (Luke 4:16), (Mark 2:28), (Matthew 5:17,18), (John 14:15).
The apostles also kept and honored the Sabbath of the Lord! (Acts 13:14, 42, 44; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Revelation 1:10).
If there is no evidence in the Bible for the Sabbath being changed to Sunday, where did the change come from?
The Sabbath was not changed at all by God, Jesus, or the apostles, but instead, men in their councils did so without the authority of God!
Where in the Bible does the Sabbath changed to Sunday?
There is not a single piece of evidence, verse, or clue in the Bible about the Sabbath being changed to Sunday.
The changing of the Sabbath to Sunday is simply the work of man, and not of God!
History tells us that the first change of the Sabbath to Sunday was in 321 AD by the Emperor of Rome, Constantine the Great!
Soon after, the Roman Catholic Church, in the Council of Laodicea also decreed that the Sabbath should be kept on Sunday!
However, they did all this change without the authority of God or Jesus!
The Bible warned us of an entity power that “will think to change times and laws…” (Daniel 7:25)

Where in the Bible does it say the Sabbath is on Sunday?
From Genesis to Revelation, you will not find a single verse that says the Sabbath is on Sunday!
Because Sunday worship is the tradition of man, you cannot find in the Bible a verse authorizing the sanctity of Sunday, a normal working day!
Now, people, honest in their faith sometimes mistakenly identify the Lord’s Day as Sunday! Yet, the Bible does not support such a thing!
Instead, the Bible tells us the Sabbath is the Lord’s Day! (Isaiah 58:13), (Matthew 12:8).
Is the Sabbath day Saturday or Sunday according to the Bible?
According to the Bible, the Sabbath is on Saturday, not Sunday!
I think we can all agree that Jesus died on Friday, known in the Bible as Preparation Day, rested on the tomb on the Sabbath (Saturday), and rose on the first day of the week (Sunday).
And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.
And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
Luke 23:53-56, 24:1 KJV
When was the Sabbath changed to Sunday in the Bible?
There is no change from the Sabbath to Sunday in the Bible. Sunday worship is simply a tradition of men!
Even though there are no commandments in the Bible to honour Sunday as a holy day, people started to apply this day to the resurrection of Christ, and thus made it holy!
Unfortunately, God does not approve such things, because we are to listen to His commandments if we love Him, and not to make our commandments!
Unfortunately, compromise has been made in the Church, and people started to follow man’s commandments instead of God’s commandments!
When did Christians start worshipping on Sunday?
“There is no necessity that I should take another step to fully establish my propositions. It is abundantly, proved, beyond all chance of denial, that the first law of any kind for resting from worldly labor on the first day of the week, was that of Constantine, who commanded only certain classes to rest upon it as the venerable day of the sun, in conformity with his worship of Apollo, the sun-god.
And in less than half a century after that time, a Catholic council enacted a canon which was accepted as orthodox, which not only contained the first formal church law for the observance of the Sunday, but likewise forbade the observance of the seventh-day Sabbath, under penalty of being accursed from Christ!
Now, if anyone can imagine what would be changing the Sabbath if this is not, I would be extremely happy to learn what it could be. In less than half a century after Constantine’s first Sunday decree, we find this sweeping canon of the Council of Laodicea.
In less than a century after the publication of this canon, Leo the Great gave his decision in the most emphatic terms, that the Sunday was the day specially honored of the Lord, and ought to be specially honored by Christians.
And in less than a century after Leo’s decision, Justinian subjected all, whether Jews, Gentiles, or Christians, to the Catholic faith, of which the substitution of the Sunday for the Sabbath was a prominent part, of which they had to make a public profession within three months, under penalty of being declared infamous, excluded from all employments, rendered incapable of leaving anything by will, and having their estates, of whatever nature confiscated”. –

Is Sunday worship biblical?
Sunday worship is not biblical. The Bible says the Sabbath is on the seventh day of the week (Genesis 2:2-3), and there is nothing special about the first day of the week, Sunday.
If something is followed by large crowds or masses of people, does not make it truth!
But the Word of God is the only Truth! (John 17:17)
Jesus said that narrow is the way that leads to life. (Matthew 7:14)
Conclusion
In summary, no Bible verse tells us the Sabbath was changed to Sunday. This change was done by men, and not by God!
Perhaps, it is your first time hearing about this, and in your sincerity, you worship God on Sunday!
However, He calls you to honour Him, and worship on His real day of rest – the Sabbath!
God is good and full of mercy, and probably many people will be in Heaven who worshipped God on Sunday because they did not know better!
Yet, for us, today, there is so much light in the Word of God, that we cannot be mistaken if we follow His Word!
He commands us to get out of Babylon, out of the Churches that are teaching false doctrines, and return to worship Him, who made Heaven and the Earth! (Revelation 14:6-8, 18:4)
May God help us all to be faithful to Him only, our Creator, the only One who deserves our worship, and to be ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ on the clouds with glory and great power!
