New Moon Sabbath Bible Verse

New Moon Sabbath Bible Verse

And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

Isaiah 66:23  KJV

On the New Earth that God will create, the Sabbath will continue to be kept and honoured by those redeemed from this Earth of sin and sorrow.

When God created the Sabbath, after the days of creation, in the garden of Eden, He made it to be kept forever. (Genesis 2:2-3)

Some mistakenly believe that the Sabbath was changed to Sunday, or it is unnecessary to observe it anymore.

However, the Bible is clear that those who will be saved will honour Him on the Sabbath, the same as they honour Him here on this Earth.

Isaiah 66:23

The promise from this verse will be fulfilled on the New Earth that God will create for those who obey Him and His commandments.

And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

Isaiah 66:23  KJV

After sin, sinners, along with Satan and his fallen angels will be judged and destroyed forever, God will recreate this Earth. (Revelation 20, 21)

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Revelation 21:1-3  KJV

A New Earth with peace and joy will be the eternal home for those redeemed from the power of sin and Satan.

During this marvellous time, the Sabbath will be honoured as it is honoured today on this Earth by His faithful followers.

The Ten Commandments are the foundation of God’s government. They will be kept forever because it is the only way to happiness and peace for everyone.

His commandments are just and good. (Romans 7:12)

The Sabbath is the fourth commandment

The Sabbath is the fourth commandment of God and it was never changed.

It was never changed or abolished.

Jesus Christ Himself kept the Sabbath and His apostles too. (Luke 4:16, Acts 13:42,44, 16:13, 17:2, 18:4)

He said He came to not change the Law but to fulfil it! (Matthew 5:17-19)

He expects us to honour His Law by obeying the Sabbath on the seventh day. (Exodus 20:8-11)

Conclusion

Isaiah 66:23 speaks to the universal, continuous, and eternal worship of God by all people, reflecting both God’s sovereignty and the sanctification of time. It looks forward to a future fulfilment where all of creation comes together in reverent worship before the Creator.
