Is Sunday “Sabbath” the Mark of the Beast?

Yes, the Bible prophecy from Revelation 13 tells us that when Sunday worship will become mandatory by law, it will be the mark of the beast.

At the moment of writing this article, those who worship on Sunday have not received the mark of the beast.

Only when this issue will become global, when everyone will hear both sides, people will need to take a decision.

Revelation 13 give us very specific characteristics of the beast from the sea so that we will be able to identify its mark, and hopefully avoid it.

This is a very serious issue, because God warns that those who will receive the mark of the beast will suffer His wrath and be lost for eternity. (Revelation 14:9-11)

Let’s explore together this study to find out together what the mark of the beast is, and to not be deceived by the false theories out there.

Who is the Beast from the Sea in Revelation 13?

In Revelation 13, John the apostle gives us certain characteristics of the beast from the sea.

The beast is rising out of the sea
Has 7 heads and 10 horns
It is guilty of blasphemy
The beast has similarities with the leopard, bear, lion
The Dragon gave to her power and authority
One of his heads is wounded to death
Her deadly wound was healed
The whole world wonders after the beast
Rules for 42 months
She persecutes the saints of God

We know these are symbols, and we are not looking for literal beasts on this Earth.

These characteristics helps us to identify the beast from the sea → the Papacy.

It is the only organization that fits all these characteristics.

Before we go further into this study, it is important to know that God has many loving and sincere people in the Catholic Church.

And this Church is known to have made many good deeds and acts of kindness in this world.

This is not an attack on the people, but a revelation of what the Bible says about this institution.

God loves you and does not want you to be deceived!

Remember, Satan managed to deceive one third of angels in Heaven!

If we want to be safe from his deceptions, we must know what the Word of God says.

A beast in Bible prophecy is a symbol for a kingdom. (Daniel 7:23)
Sea or waters in Bible is a symbol for densely populated areas. (Revelation 17:15)

The Papacy came out from Western Europe, from a densely populated area.

The ten horns refer to the ten kingdoms in which Pagan Rome divided.
Blasphemy in the Bible is when someone claims to be God and claim to have the power to forgive sins. The priests of Rome are known to make these declarations. (John 10:33, Luke 5:21).

The similarities with other beasts refers to those kingdoms that were in power before Rome. (see Daniel 7)

Leopard – Greek Empire
Bear – Medo-Persia
Lion – Babylon

The Papal Rome has taken many teachings from those pagan empires and incorporated them into the Church with a christian flavour.

The Dragon refers to Pagan Rome, the power who persecuted Christ in those times. King Herod tried to eliminate baby Jesus. (Matthew 2:16)

And behind Pagan Rome was the enemy, the Devil, which the Bible tells us he is the dragon, and the old serpent. (Revelation 12:9)

He operates through earthly powers to accomplish his goals.

It is a historic fact that Papal Power received its power from Pagan Rome.

The wounding of one of its head refers to the event when Berthier, the general of Napoleon took the Pope captive in 1798.

But the deadly wound of this beast power is getting healed. This is what we see today – Vatican is known and respected worldwide. Its influence is in every country and religion on this Earth.

Thus the whole world wonders after the beast.

This power ruled for 42 months, which means 1260 literal years in prophetic time.

In the hebrew calendar, they usually have 30 days in a month.

30 * 42 = 1260 days. A day in Bible prophecy is a year. (Ezekiel 4:6)

1260 days = 1260 years.

This power ruled from 538 – 1798 AD.

Also, it is well know that the Papacy in the Dark Ages persecuted the saints of God through the Inquisition. Millions of martyrs were the result of her actions.

“That the Church of Rome has shed more innocent blood than any other institution that has ever existed among mankind, will be questioned by no Protestant who has a competent knowledge of history.

The memorials, indeed, of many of her persecutions, are now so scanty, that it is impossible to form a complete conception of the multitude of her victims, and it is quite certain that no power of imagination can adequately realize their sufferings.

Now, if we have identified the beast, let’s see what is its sign.

What is the mark of the beast?

“Sunday is our mark of authority …. The church is above the Bible, and this transference of sabbath observance is proof of that fact”
(The Catholic Record of London, Ontario, Sept. 1, 1923).

The Papacy admits that Sunday is their mark of authority or power! They claim that the church is above the Word of God!

In Revelation 13, in the whole chapter the key word is worship.

Does Sunday has anything to do with worship? It does.

They have many excuses why they worship on Sunday, which we won’t get into here. But the main point is there is no Bible support for Sunday worship.

And while many expect for and look for a technical device or tattoo or microchip as being the mark of the beast, they Devil deceives them all with his last card of deception – Sunday worship.

Does God has a sign or a mark?

God also has a sign or a mark through which his followers are identified.

Ezekiel 20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

Ezekiel 20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.

In the verses above, it refers to the real, biblical Sabbath – Saturday, the seventh day of the week.

In the last great conflict between truth and error, between Christ and Satan, everyone living on this Earth will be marked.

Either with the mark of God or with the mark of the beast.

Revelation 7:2-3 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

The mark of God will be only in the forehead, which represents the mind or the conscience. (Deuteronomy 6:8)

In other words, God accepts only a sincer worship, from your heart or mind.

On the other side, the mark of the beast can be received in the right hand or in the forehead. (Revelation 13:16)

The hand represents actions in the Bible. (Ecclesiastes 9:10)

To receive the mark of the beast in the hand means to go along with this false union for security reasons. People may not agree with this union, but due to fear of not being able to buy and sell and death decree, they will receive the mark on their hand.

Those who receive it on the forehead, will believe they are doing the right thing.

Conclusion

In conclusion, is Sunday “Sabbath” the mark of the beast? It is not right now at the moment of writing this article.

But it will become the mark of the beast once it is enforced by law.

We have analyzed together the characteristics of the beast from the sea and discovered to be the Papacy.

Prophecy tells us that they will unite with the beast from the earth – Protestant America, and make an image to the first beast, the persecuting power.

For the deception to be complete, Satan himself will impersonate Christ and deceive many. (Matthew 24:23-27)

This three-fold union will work with wonders and miracles to “prove” they are from God and everyone must unite, obey and worship on Sunday.

But the Bible tells us that those who take the mark of the beast, and worship its image will suffer the wrath of God. (Revelation 14:9-11)

Our only hope will be to trust in God and His Word. If we choose to obey Him and His laws, even though we may lose this life, we will earn the eternal life. (Revelation 2:10), (Matthew 10:39), (Revelation 20:4).
